Who is [Mistress]?

[Mistress] is a Filipina in her late 20’s who has been a frustrated writer since her grade school days when her talents were wasted on making lousy dialogues for poorly-illustrated comic strips for her closest friends. She hails from the South and has been a Catholic school girl almost all her life except for her five years in college in a non-sectarian school, where she learned to drink, smoke and do most of the forbidden things that good girls were told not do. Now a recovering reprobate, she keeps herself busy with trying to make a career out of her triple-degree, primarily as a recent holder of a degree as Doctor of Medicine.

She is a simple girl, who is easy to please, loves to laugh, and is frequently misconstrued as quiet and snobbish by people who don’t personally know her. She has a warped sense of humor, a fascination for the odd and unusual and an overwhelming sense of practicality. She writes mostly about her past experiences, the men who have made certain marks in her life, her friends and their stories. She does not choose to write much about her career or her family, as these are so far, the two most sacred things in her life. She is an independent open-minded woman who can adapt well in any environment. A few of her many weaknesses include guys who can cook, long e-mails and text messages, Piolo Pascual, kwek-kwek and watching cheesy Tagalog movies featuring the latest love teams.

The name [Mistress] hails from two major reasons. One, as a result of acceptance of fate from a particularly unrewarding relationship which she has chosen to end a few days after starting this blog. Two, it being the female version of master, [Mistress] has had much too many dating experiences and has been frequently teased by friends as knowledgeable when it comes to dating and relationships. On the other hand, [Mistress] does not fancy herself as an expert in the said area and is not always comfortable giving advices about love, considering that she makes a lot of mistakes herself in that aspect. Should you still choose to do so, for whatever purpose, feel free to contact her at thefilipinamistress@yahoo.com.
